I am the author of the Beaumont trilogy, a series set in the seventeenth century English Civil War featuring my charming but trouble-prone protagonist Laurence Beaumont and his adventures in the world of politics, warfare, espionage and love.

Beaumont was first introduced in 2009 with the publication of The Best of Men. In the sequel published five years later, The Licence of War, I picked up exactly where the reader had left him; and he discovered himself yet again enmeshed in a dangerous web of intrigue involving both Royalist and Parliamentarian spies. Torn between love and duty, he was also driven to defend his noble family from a mysterious foreign threat.

In the final volume of the trilogy, The Wounds of Fortune, Beaumont must confront his most subtle and powerful enemy just as the King's cause begins to founder disastrously.
